The kind hearted are revered, a tyrant is hated

The kind hearted are revered, a tyrant is hated

The kind hearted are revered, a tyrant is hated,

A dollar earned honestly is more valuable than a million gained through treachery,

Some eat dirt to stave off hunger, while the elite enjoy endless banquets in fine dining halls,

Conspiring conquest, complaining about the commoner, clamoring over exploits,

Glutinous bellies which are never satiated,

Selfish ambitions, macabre and diabolical,

Against the multitude, huddles masses, cold and bitter, hungry and defiant,

Whose only crime is our own compliance, complacency, aversion to conflict,

Dependency born out of compulsion–obey or else,

Some fare well, others barely survive–all share a precarious state,

For security is fragile; poverty, but one tragedy from reality, freedom a farce,

Big brother watches and records–oh wicked surveillance state,

IPhones and Samsungs never sleep, Alexa is always listening,

cameras in computers and streets record around the clock,

Boundless storage capacity, AI programs whose sole purpose is to protect the masters of Empire,

Solidifying hegemony, repressing resistance, enforcing homage,

Some chase wealth, others status, while others rebel,

If only we recognized our common plight, our common humanity, our common enemies,

To coalesce around commonality, in defense of dignity, for the sake of a real future,

Prosperity, freedom, liberty of real consequence,

The end of tyrants, thieves, murderers, liars,

Good government, fair economy, real opportunity,

When voices are amplified not silenced, and needs are met, and dreams are realized,

Dreams of MLK and Che, of Zapatistas and Palestinians,

of the poor white boy in Midwest and the poor black girl in the South

To them we owe our everything,

In their defense may our struggle emerge victorious!

Adapt and thrive! Organize! Plan and execute! Resist Empire!
